About the
Artist
 |
Come on in and visit for a while! There is much to see and we hope you like all of the work that we have created for your enjoyment!
Just to let you know a little about myself, my family, and my artwork, it all began, way back in rural Nebraska and Iowa when I was a little girl. I had a very artistic mom who encouraged me in my drawing and painting. From Crayons to Oil paints, then sewing and stitchery, clay and fabric
sculpture, she
encouraged me to
work with my hands.
She, being a
quilter, is well
acquainted with my
Quilt Alphabet
blocks.

I met my husband Kevin in Michigan and eventually we moved to the beautiful mountains of northern Pennsylvania. My husband was also very encouraging and pushed me to start selling my artwork in 1990 at art and craft shows. We began by creating original pieces of folk art in various forms, including painted furniture and folk art dolls. Yes, I have my own patterns, which I hope to present to you in the future! Eventually we went to printing my artwork in 2-dimensional form, right here on our farm.
Since then I have become a member of the Society of Decorative Painters and have been blessed with several awards at various art and craft shows across the country.
My artwork depicts my love of the country. I am inspired by the small towns and villages in Pennsylvania and New England. All of our critters, including horses, cats and dogs are a great source of inspiration as well. But most of all, it is my faith in God that has given me more inspiration than you can imagine! After all, He is the Creator in Chief! So as you view my work, I hope that you will see the Lord in everything we create!
All of our designs are original and are truly created right here on our Pennsylvania farm. All the painting is done by me. The frames are hand cut and painted by Kevin. Printed and mounted on plaques by myself and my daughter Caitlin. She is a great source of joy for me and also a wonderful helper with many great ideas. Oh, and we can’t forget the occasional helpful kitty as well!
Also, you can visit us in person, at one of the shows on the show schedule listings, or see some of my work at one of several stores around the northeast!
I am at most of the shows myself and usually demonstrating some thing new that I am painting.
IN Jeremiah 29:11 God says, “I know the plans I have for you!” It is awesome to know that He is in control!
So COME ON IN! Oh! And Thanks MOM! *smiles* |
